  • Parabens are chemical compounds used in many beauty products as a preservative. They penetrate through the skin and remain for prolonged periods of time. Not only have parabens been linked to cancer causes and fertility issues among others, they can irritate your scalp and cause dry-out of your strands.

    Keeping clear of parabens is essential in your hair wellness routine.

  • Silicones leave a physical coating on your hair and scalp. They are used to give the illusion and feeling of silky soft hair, but the barrier it creates prevents and deprives hair of natural essential oils and nourishment. The build up of silicones can leave your hair dry, rough brittle and extremely prone to breakage.

  • SLS and SLES are forms of sulphates commonly used in haircare to manipulate the texture of the formula and to break down dirt and oils. This break down and cleaning action is often far too strong for everyday use. They can completely strip the hair and scalp of its natural oils, leaving it dry, brittle and sensitive.
