Ingredients

  • Yes, personal care should be safe and effective, without compromise. We believe in transparency and that is why we clearly state the percentage of naturally derived ingredients in each of our products. Our formulations are derived from nature and carefully blended by our chemists with fractions of safe man-made ingredients where needed to create products that are stable and deliver results. Take a look at our full ingredients index here.

  • We made it one of our main objectives to create a brand that is 100% Vegan. We love nature and nothing in our range contains any animal products. We are proudly PETA certified.

  • We are proud to be cruelty free and PETA certified. None of our products are tested on animals and we’ve worked closely with our manufacturers to verify each one of our ingredients.

  • Our products contain no parabens, SLS & SLES, triclosan, FDC dyes, DEA or TEA. What we leave out is just as important as what we put in. There has been extensive research targeting individual ingredients listed above found in toiletries. These ingredients are harmful and can cause irritation, allergic reactions, blocked pores, toxicity to cells, hormone disruptions and some have even been linked to cancers.

  • SLS stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (sometimes known as SDS, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate). SLES is short for Sodium Laureth Sulfate, sometimes known as Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate. Both SLS and SLES are surfactants added to many beauty products, used to create the foaming action associated with cleansing products. Why we don’t use them in our hair care - residue from SLS or SLES can remain on the hair and scalp, the continued exposure on the will certainly make the hair and scalp dry out and certain sensitivity issues may appear.

We do however use gentle and natural surfactants such as Sodium Coco-Sulfate and Lauryl Glucoside so you don’t have to compromise on effective foaming agents that turn liquids into the rich lather that most of us have come to associate with the cleansing process when washing our locks. Take a look at our full ingredient index and EWG ratings here.

  • Silicones are a group of ingredients that act like a raincoat for your hair and skin. Products with silicones in them will lock out humidity and give the illusion of healthy locks. Silicones block other hydrating ingredients from penetrating deep down and cause build up which can eventually lead to breakage and can coat your locks and leave your roots feeling greasy over time.

Our hair care is proudly silicone free. We use natural oils in our range rather than silicones. The natural oils contained in our carefully formulated products contain essential fatty acids, nutrients and vitamins which hydrate, condition, and detangle strands while leaving hair shiny and frizz free.

  • Keracyn or its official name of Cynara Scolymus/Artichoke Leaf Extract is in all of our bottled Conditioner hair care range. It is vitamin and antioxidant-rich and strengthens and protects hair fibres. It also provides protection of the hair cuticle against external damages resulting in stronger hair as well as preventing protein and lipid degradation helping keep the hair cuticle sealed, and supports shine. Now that's super.

Packaging

  • Yes, our bottles are curbside recyclable (just take the pumps off). Because they are a lighter colour, they are much better for recycling than darker coloured bottles.

  • Our bottles are made in NZ with recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable. They are screen printed to reduce waste - we don’t use any plastic labels. Our Hand and Body, Shampoo and Conditioner bar packaging are plastic free and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified and are also 100% recyclable. We have launched refills of our hand wash - these pouches use up to 80% less plastic. By 2025 we aim to have all everblue packaging made from recyclable, compostable or biodegradable materials.

Company

  • Our company and brand's philosophy is all about feeling good about what you use on your body and hair and in turn making you feel good about yourself. This means feeling good about the ingredients, how they make you feel, where they are made (hello New Zealand) and about the company who makes it. Our products are Clean, Calm and Conscious and that is also the pillars of our everblue company and team.

  • Accessible to us means making premium and clean products affordable and easily found at your local supermarket when you're doing your regular shop, rather than having to go out of your way to specialist stores. Partnering with Countdown, Supervalue and FreshChoice has been an incredible journey and we are so pleased to be working with them to make everblue truly accessible.

  • Jade Hart with the help of her partner James Hart co-founded everblue to solve an issue Jade was constantly facing; that natural and clean hair and body care was expensive, hard to find and usually didn't stack up against its chemically packed alternatives. After extensive development with New Zealand's leading beauty manufacturer they developed the everblue range. Jade then partnered with Renee Lee, to help bring everblue to life and run this women-led business as they shared a passion for sustainability, ethical manufacturing and helping people, in particular women, to build confidence and become the trailblazers that they all can be.
