Becoming Climate Positive was a necessity to us from the get-go. So on our first birthday when we had a whole year of data under our belt, we were able to go through a robust analysis with a certified Analyst from EKOS to offset all of our emissions by 120%. ⁠

We are proud to support all of the countries we operate in and the trailblazing beauty innovations happening right here on our beautiful shores in New Zealand. All our products are made just a stone’s throw from our HQ in Auckland. We’ve looked to design our supply chain as efficiently as possible and will consistently be working with our retail partners to minimise emissions.

Here’s a breakdown of what is included in our yearly carbon analysis based on our operations:

So what does Climate Positive actually mean?

Being Climate Positive means that once we have gone through the lengthy and robust process of calculating all of our carbon emissions each year, we can then offset our carbon consumption by purchasing carbon credits which go straight back into important carbon restoration projects and initiatives. To be Climate Positive we have offset by 120%, which means we are putting more good back into the environment than we are taking. It’s a responsibility we feel is incredibly important.

How we offset

For our first year of offsetting, we focussed on important restoration projects and carbon avoidance across the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. From our second year onwards, we began offsetting with Ecologi, so that you can track our offsets with us and see exactly where and how we are making impact nearby and around the globe.

What next?

The beauty of undergoing such an extensive analysis is that we have full clarity on where our heavy emission factors lie. From this we have created both short-term, mid-term and long-term goals to significantly reduce, manage and eliminate carbon footprint wherever possible.

These goals include eliminating air freight, working with our suppliers to introduce more efficient energy & fleet systems, and reduce staff commuting to name a few. Each year we reassess our progress and continue to offset our emissions by 120%, no matter how large our operations get.
